I explore myself and my interests mainly through creating delicate paintings. I have worked with a variety of materials as my art has progresses, but more recently I have found myself primarily creating with watercolour. My work has reflected upon my own life with self-portraits as well as touching upon my fascination with the world of popular culture. These two areas of inspiration have sometimes come together in my practice also, resulting in quite playful pieces where I have found enjoyment in creating a narrative about myself. Drawing inspiration from my life I love working with my materials to capture those around me. I get excited about manipulating the qualities of the pain for instance the muddy, dirty but also fragile nature of watercolour, to highlight the emotion I see within images I use

Post-Distance is a crucial display of work by final year, graduating BA (Hons)Fine Art students. It represents their commitment and ingenuity, a testament to their resilience at the end of a difficult year. Working across different media and contexts, this exhibition highlights what is possible, how limitations need not restrict and how it is always a good time to be artist.
