Andreea Pîslaru (b.1998) is a Romanian artist based in West Midlands, United Kingdom. She is currently a BA Fine Art student, in her final year at Birmingham School of Art. Her current practice explores the human body as a language and a tool in art in relation to themes such as objectification, sexuality, and abjection. Prioritising the process of making, she works across a range of forms including painting, performance, installation, photography, collage and video. Her methods can be described as intimate, abstract art, having a preoccupation with the female body. She’s interested in challenging the barrier between private and public, between artist and artwork. Andreea is also a Co-Founder of Round Lemon art collective, which she currently runs with three other artists.
