Life is open for experience, adjusting your mentality and increasing wisdom. I hope that this work can be used as a tool in my hands to heal my own soul and the souls of others. Plaster, silicone or bandages are used in installations to express people’s psychological state, and self-exploration in works of art by means of meditation.
Silicone and plaster of Paris are solidified after flowing, like a freeze frame of time, allowing people to remember and reflect on that moment forever. Bandages are soft, elastic and entangled, creating an environment that nurtures new life, and has an intuitive healing effect on the body, borrowing its function as a metaphor for spiritual healing. At the same time, my work is influenced by Rudolf Steiner, Wittgenstein, transpersonal psychology, integrated psychological healing, ecological healing, traditional Chinese culture and other theories.
The annual Degree Show is a highly anticipated event amongst staff, students, external partners and friends of the School of Art – it provides a platform for the work that the students have spent so long conceiving and producing.
