Seeing the world through a child’s eyes invites reflection as the child explores and makes sense of the world around them.
We tend to think we are the ones teaching children. Through art projects in their early years, the child learns to develop practical skills while handling pencils and paintbrushes. Creating pictures and telling a story develops language and communication skills. But what if it is through these activities the child is the one teaching us? What if they are showing us a world that we’ve forgotten or pushed to one side in the pursuit of being a grown up?
The annual Degree Show is a highly anticipated event amongst staff, students, external partners and friends of the School of Art – it provides a platform for the work that the students have spent so long conceiving and producing.
