With the spread of the pandemic, people have a deeper understanding and awareness of the importance of social media on human life. My work explores on the relationship between social media and human beings through contemporary jewelry. The relationship is examined through a focus on touch and ideas generated around the connection between the temperature of my finger and the cold screen of an internet-enabled device. My work explores the physicality of the touch with the finger and the identity of the individual. My jewelry explores finger shape, fingerprint sliding, pressing and other dynamic technologies to create wearable objects that explore the clay as both state and form. I use acrylic dyeing, 3D modeling and printing technologies combined with the back needle of metal processing jewelry. The brooch work uses elements such as fingers and screens to show the indispensable connection between social media and people on a small-scale but through a direct way. The work makes explicit the wearable connectivity of the mobile device through contemporary jewelry.
