Most people have very conservative views on jewelry. People unconsciously associate jewelry with precious metals and gems, and the value of materials seems to be the only standard to measure the value of jewelry. This concept not only puts an unbearable burden on ordinary people who want to own jewelry, but also hinders the evolution of the artistic form of jewelry. For me, contemporary jewelry is a special existence. It abandons the noble metal or even decorative nature of traditional jewelry, and pays more attention to narrative and material diversity. My research focuses on the possibilities and narrative direction of contemporary jewelry, as well as its connection to the body and the everyday. I have studied this topic through four jewelry-related projects and used my own unique artistic language to illustrate my cognition of contemporary jewelry.
