Exploring Britain’s Black art spaces and the legacy of the British Black Arts Movement.
This mind map was loosely inspired by Jeremy Deller’s The History of the World (1997) in which he demonstrated common themes that linked acid house to brass bands. I have applied the same method of visual presentation to connect various themes that are interlinked with Black British art. I have predominantly featured iconic artists and pioneers, social issues and notable dates/locations in order to demonstrate the scope of the impact and the impetus behind the Black British Art Movement.
