In The Shadows We Write by Kirsteen Stacey

 I am an illustrator with a particular interest in horror and escapist fantasy. My work uses observational drawing and techniques such as air-brushing to create haunting illustrations that imagine other-worldly stories. I love working with narratives and my recent work has focused on ‘Dracula’, one of my favourite horror stories since I was a child and still a story that I repeatedly escape into. I am really interesting in the way illustrations can act as a starting point for a readers own imagination, I try and exploit this by playing with both what is seen and what is not seen in my paintings.
