This sculptural installation, The Reform, consists of 7 suspended paper sculptures, to look as if they are floating , representing a suspended moment in time to reflect on environmental issues. The Reform is part of a sustainability project where all materials have been recycled, reformed or repurposed. The project also consists of two-toned paper sculptures and natural mud paintings; making a natural paint using a mix of clay, soil and water. The drawings are inspired by wire flower sculptures losing their petals. This fast-painting style contradicts with the time consuming process of reforming paper, reflecting the consumerism within society. I’ve used fallen tree branches to mould the sculptures to relate back to its natural original form.
Post-Distance
Post-Distance is a crucial display of work by final year, graduating BA (Hons)Fine Art students. It represents their commitment and ingenuity, a testament to their resilience at the end of a difficult year. Working across different media and contexts, this exhibition highlights what is possible, how limitations need not restrict and how it is always a good time to be artist.
