Amelia’s work comes in various forms, from drawing and painting to sculpture and instillation. She specialises in portraits, pet portraits and large-scale murals. She is also known to create landscape paintings, hand-painted saws and custom work. Her work is often large-scale and striking, with strong use of texture, contrast, tones and colour. 

She is fascinated by topics surrounding the body and mental health, her work typically shining a light on stereotypical ‘imperfections’ and ‘flaws’. Her aim is to address and challenge society’s expectations and perceptions of normality, perfection and beauty.  She explores the question “what makes us who we are?” in various ways throughout her work.

” I use my personal experiences within my art as the basis of everything I do creatively. Exploring how I see my body and its differences- how they are perceived as imperfections by society . Yet I embrace that they are imperfections, they are flawed, and yet they make me who I am.”

Amelia is intrigued by the Body Positivity Movement, which empowers people and encourages them to embrace their ‘imperfections’. She supports this movement through the medium of art and challenges these so-called ‘imperfections’, whether that relates to weight, size, features, skin or disability. The main aim of her work is to challenge society about the norms and expectations of beauty, which are plastered all over social media- platforms which can, and should, be used as a more positive tool. The mediums she specialises in is acrylic paint, colour pencil and alginate plaster casting. She also does a lot of commissioned work which usually consists of graphite pencil or colour pencil drawings and acrylic paintings.
