Presented in the form of installation art, this exhibition
explores the theme of profound connection and rebirth
between Chinese parents and children. The chain symbolizes
the bonds passed down from generation to generation in the
family, conveying the close relationship between parents and
children. The birdcage represents the care and protection of
the parents, while the branches and wings symbolize the
growth and freedom of the child. This contrast reveals the
subtleties of trade-offs within families, expressing the
complexity of the emotional bonds between parents and
children in the emerging process. The images of birds and
birdcages in the painting echo the contradictions and
balances in family relationships. Through this contrasting
expression, the differences in parents’ expectations and
understanding of their children are conveyed. This theme
guides the audience to think deeply about the integration and
conflict between traditional concepts and modern values in
Chinese culture, as well as the challenges faced by the new
generation in this process. Through the interweaving of
multiple elements, inspiring the audience to think deeply
about family, tradition and modernity.
