I am Theo-Atlas, I am a trans artist (he/it).
My art explores queer monstrosity, particularly the relationship between non-conforming identities and the concept of ‘alien’. The art that I create is a vessel for the exploration of my identity.
I use a variety of materials, constantly expanding my knowledge of new and existing skills. I enjoy mixing hard and soft materials, such as yarn and clay, I also hand-binding my own journals, collecting imagery, poems and other text in them as physical streams of thought. Most recently, my work has taken the form of my own coded language, called Roudoys, a language I use to talk about my identity in a unrestrained way.
The annual Degree Show is a highly anticipated event amongst staff, students, external partners and friends of the School of Art – it provides a platform for the work that the students have spent so long conceiving and producing.
