My recent Art and Design practice is a culmination of a year-long journey during my studies in this field.

The subject of my work is related to the history and culture of my homeland, Iran. Given my previous academic background in architecture, I’ve always paid special attention to murals, building decorations, tilework, etc.

My work in this exhibition is a combination of conceptual art and decorative art. To create this work, I utilized a section from the Pasargad Luon (located at the top of the piece) situated in the historical site of Persepolis. All the decorative motifs drawn around the piece are inspired by Iranian architectural art. In the lower section of the artwork, I used the colors of the Iranian flag and incorporated geometric patterns using needle and thread.

The presented piece represents my vision of a land confined yet longing for freedom. The rich history and civilization of this country always assure me that oppression is not permanent, and brighter days will come.
