My artistic medium has always been clay. Everyone, I suppose, originates in clay and eventually returns to it.
Women’s authority has been diminished for a long time in history; when did the cult of women begin to wane away? This is a question I have been considering. In literature, I discovered material about matriarchy and patriarchy. I intended to restructure the feminine cult. Clay and water have always been feminine to me and as a result, I utilise clay to investigate the feminine. In my art, the ‘Great Circle’ plays an essential role. The Great Mother Goddess; encompasses everything that rotates around it; it is the womb that gave birth to the planet. The ocean, the cave, nature, and the limitless sea are all present. It is also a powerful symbol of motherhood, as it’s from her that the baby is born and life is reborn. Everything is nurtured by the vessel, which rotates around the Great Circle.” Clay has been a symbol of femininity since ancient times. Ceramics were the sole material of male artists at one time in history, and it was only later, via a succession of ceramic movements, that women’s ceramics began to make their presence felt. Through my clay, I want to reinterpret feminine energy. At the same time, Collage is also an important part of my work.
