Hannah Quill is a British artist, based in Solihull, West Midlands, currently working and studying in Birmingham, UK.
Her practice explores how sculptural works have the potential to interrupt and interact with the spaces they inhabit and the surfaces they encounter. Within her responsive, site-specific practice she plays with form, materials and scale – exploring the ways in which her soft sculptures can occupy and transform exhibition spaces and the viewing experience. Through observing her surroundings, she notices particular colours and shapes, becoming heavily inspired by the formal qualities of objects and spaces she encounters.
As an individual on the Autistic spectrum, creating soft sculptures has been an interesting hands-on approach through the freedom of creating varied forms and the exploration of soft materials.
