I paint and photograph urban locations that I find both from my everyday commute and by chance. Exploring the city is an important research method for my practice as I feel working from my own experience is more beneficial than just a memory or photograph. I am interested in the ideas of non-places and liminal spaces found within the urban landscape, the spaces between places, which inform my location choices. Recreating materials and textures from the specific sites, is how I connect space to painting as well as capture the atmosphere of said space.
