Ella Smart is a British artist born in 1999 in Bristol. She is currently studying a Fine Art degree at Birmingham City University.
Her practice is driven by her deep connection to nature and interest in how we interact with it as humans. Her intuitive process examines her instinctive decision making in relation to assembling art directly in the landscape. Ella wants people to experience art in the context of a beautiful surrounding, creating an experience as the viewer discovers her work there.
Ella works mostly sculpturally, but has also utilized photography, film, digital manipulation as well as sound in her practice.
The annual Degree Show is a highly anticipated event amongst staff, students, external partners and friends of the School of Art – it provides a platform for the work that the students have spent so long conceiving and producing.
