My practice uses sculpture to explore themes of decay, regeneration and cycles of life. My work employs a fragmented approach to story-telling to examine the bonds between humans and nature, using materials such as clay to create surreal and macabre sculptures. I am particularly interested in clay as I am fascinated by the ways it can be shaped and formed, as well as its connection to the earth and the way in which it disintegrates. My sculptures and installations are all informed by my thinking around the grotesque, with the intention to stir morbid curiosity in people but also to show a different perspective on things that seem strange at first sight or hearing.
