Overflowing boundaries
My research is about border exploration.
During my journey I considered myself as the work through transcending borders. During this month, I travelled through different borders, coastlines and time zones. I tried to find the borders, and in the process, I experienced the cancellation of flights due to extreme weather conditions, language barriers, racial differences, discriminations, malicious charges for services, illnesses, fatigue from long distance travel. I also experienced the blessing of kindness, the gift of the beauty of nature, the beauty of the world. At the end of my journey, I lost my photos, documents, and proof of my identity, and at that moment I experienced despair. But after all this, I don’t count it as self-evidence of how boundaries are broken; because borders don’t exist in the first place. Boundary lines, coastlines, time, race, region, none of these can be called borders, they are all just a big mountain inside us. A mountain that is already invisible.
